Sherry & Her Addi Clicks
Addi News!

Just wanted you to know that there are more sets of Addi Clicks on order.  The last ones sold out immediately.  If anyone wants to pre-order a set, you need to let me know.  ALSO, the news is that Addi has developed some "extras" for the Addi Click system, such as a crochet hook end for picking up & knitting stitches and some other tips that will give you additional flexibility.  As soon as I get the final word for these handy additions, I will let you all know.

Our "Sock Harlot" Sherry Ethier, was the first to get her Addi Clicks, and she reports that she loves them.

An Afghan for Mom

Projects

I am happy to share with you some of the projects that our knitters have been doing.  I am always thrilled to see the final outcome of all your hard work.  The beautiful afghan pictured to the left was made from Universal's Classic Worsted and Impressions.  If you have seen the movie "The Shadow", there is a scene where Khan is wearing a beautiful cloak, and this reminded me of the design.  This one was especially made for her mother as a surprise!

To the right is one of Sherry's socks!  It was done in Marathon Sock Yarn from Wisdom.  According to Sherry, "it was like knitting with butter."  She was able to finish the pair within a couple of days.

The WIP on the left is "Nathan's Rainbow Blanket" done in Bella DK.  This yarn is washable and superbly soft, and it comes in 27 beautiful colors and is priced right at $3.10 per skein.

I can't wait to share your next project with the group!

Marcia & her Scarf made of Stella

Yarn Tasting!

There was a lot of social interaction  and great conversations going on during the evening!
We had a terrific time on Saturday (June 20)!!!

I was blown away that Channel 12 News did a story on us for WWKIP Day, as did the Jacksonville Daily News.  I hope everyone saw Madison and Emma!

The Trunk show is here and is giving everyone inspiration and ideas on projects.  There are some really unique and interesting items in this one.  The show will be on display through Saturday, June 27th.

The Yarn Tasting was the social event of the year, so far!  I must say that it was a lot of fun, and we will do it again.  We had a total of 14 seats, and the house was full!  The evening started off with a social hour that included wine and hors d'oeuvres.  This was followed by dinner, which included salad, garlic bread, Lasagna, and Chicken Marsala (ala Joe Gray).  Dessert was cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.  The raffle winner was pulled, and Jennifer Wisener won a copy of EZ's Knitting Around series.  There were also door prizes for the guests.  Each participant received 14 yarn samples, knitting needles, and a pattern.  I am looking forward to seeing how everyone puts their samples to use.   We had three couples attend, and I think the hubbies had a great time.  They were the last to leave!

We will definitely do this again in the Fall!  -  What fun!

Join us on June 20th

Trunk Show - The "Glitz, Glam & Bing" trunk show will be arriving at the shop just in time for the Yarn Tasting and Worldwide Knit in Public Day!  The show will be on display in the shop from 19 through 29 June.  I hope you all get an opportunity to visit and see all the items

Yarn Tasting - The yarn tasting will go on the 20th of June!  Please make your reservations, as seating is limited.  We will have a social hour with wine and cheese, and then dinner.  After or during dinner, everyone will have time to play with their yarn entrees, and we will have some fun events with prizes.  The raffle drawing will also occur at this time.

Worldwide Knit in Public Day - We will be hosting this event during the day on 20 June!  Knitters are invited to come and knit all day at the shop.  If the weather permits, we can sit outside and show off our wonderful craft!  This is another great avenue for people of all ages to meet and congregate with one another and to do something they have a common interest in.

Classes are posted on the website, and the catalog is being updated.

Yarn News!

Universal Yarns has been very busy!  In addition to all the beautiful yarns we have in the shop for summer, Universal is getting ready for the fall and winter seasons.  They have published several new pattern books, which should be available in July.  There is one for babies and another for children, as well as adult patterns.  They will also be introducing their new yarns at TNNA, and I am very excited about what they will have to offer.  Classic Worsted and Classic Chunky Concord Tweed are traditional tweeds with flecks of contrasting and coordinating colors.  Naturally, they will have these in their Deluxe Worsted and Chunky 100% wools, and they have thrown in some surprise colors.  Just in time for the holidays, you will be able to get the Classic Worsted Glitter that will be available in six shades of beautiful holiday colors that are blended with metallic threads for a touch of sparkle.  There will be new shades in the Long Print yarns and in Classic Shades.  One is called "Wine and Grapevine"!  Finally, they will be introducing new Marathon Sock yarns, which will be limited editions.  Once they are gone, they will be gone.  One of the colorways will be called "North Pole" for the holiday season! - I can hardly wait!

We have received a new shipment of the sold out colors in Artyarns, and we are anticipating the arrival of Jade Sapphire.  The Cherry Tree Hill yarns have been a huge success, as the Prism

Classic Elite continues to provide us with exquisite choices in yarn.  The Fresco is an awesome blend with that touch of Angora, and the new Blythe yarn, which is the ultimate in softness and is made from Baby Camel!
