This is a three-part class and the student can choose the day(s) they wish to attend.
The cost for the class will depend on the yarn and needles selected by the student, and there will be a 10% discount on the products.
In this class you will need to know the fundamentals: gauge, knit and purl,
slip stitch, cast on, bind off, increase and decrease, pick-up stitches, and
ribbing.
Part 1
- The basic anatomy of a sock.
- How to measure your foot.
- Casting on and using Double point needles
- Shaping the Heel
- What's a Gusset?
- Toe Shaping
Part 2
- Knitting a sock with one or two circular needles -- Choose "toe-up" or "cuff down". You will also learn a couple of new techniques in this class, to include Turkish cast on (if you choose "toe-up")
Part 3
- Knitting both socks at the same time on two circular needles or one extra long circular. As this is the final class in the series, we will learn "Turkish" cast-on (if you did not do it in part two) and short row shaping.
