The Ashford
Traditional Spinning Wheel

My very first spinning wheel was the Ashford Traditional Spinning wheel. After I attended my first spinning class, my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Without hesitation, I immediately pulled out a catalog with all the information filled out for the wheel and handed it to him. On Christmas morning, there was nothing under the tree that even resembled a spinning wheel, but after opening all the presents, Bill (my hubby) pulled out this box he had hiding in the closet. It was my wheel. I named her Annabelle! (I consider each of my wheels a friend, so each one is given a name upon arrival, even the ones I sell!) The rest of the day was spent assembling the wheel (which was so very easy), carding wool, and spinning. It was one of the best Christmases I ever had. I still use this wheel today.
When I attended my first spinning class, our instructor gave us the opportunity to try out and use many different wheels. The moment I sat down to the Ashford Traditional wheel, I felt comfortable. I liked the setup, and the wheel and I became one as soon as I started to treadle. I also liked the fact that you could upgrade this wheel to any configuration, which allows a wide-range of possibilities and experimentation. This wheel can be ordered in many configurations (single drive, left handed, double drive). It also comes unfinished, lacquered or antique finished.
