The Ashford Traveller Double-Treadle Wheel
The Ashford Traveller is a great example of a classic "Castle" wheel. Most spinners enjoy the versatility of this wheel due to the additional "add ons" that are available. You can spin fine lace yarns, as well as thick and chunky types with the different flyer units that are available. The Traveller is made of Silver Beech wood and can be ordered unfinished or with a clear lacquer finish. In addition to the different configurations you can have with this wheel with the "Add On" kits, it is also a very portable wheel, which is easy to carry along. The wheel comes with a complete set of bobbins, a threading hook, a learn to spin booklet, and a built-in lazy kate. This wheel only comes as a double-treadle, but you can order it as a single- or double-drive unit.
